After Allie's great lesson, I led was tired and hot. I'm sure Rocky was too. I led him over to his stall and picked up his halter. I swung it over my shoulder and undid his bridle. He happily spit out the bit. I exchanged the bridle with a halter and tied him to the hook on the wall.
While walking to the tack room, I unbuckled my helmet and took off my gloves. I put the bridle back on the hook and left a not which read :
Dear owner of Squiggles,
I just wanted to let you know that I borrowed your bridle for my pony, Rocky. If you want me to, I will be happy to clean it for you.
Thanks much,
Kelsey
I left the note near the bridle in plain view. Then I opened my tack trunk and put my gloves in my helmet and my helmet in the trunk. I left my boots on, since I was going to clean them anyway. I left my trunk open as I went back out to Rocky
I walked up to my half-asleep pony and undid the girth on both sides. I layed the girth ontop of the saddle and lifted it off of his back. I carried the sweaty gear to the tack room and set it down on the ground. I needed to clean my saddle, so I left that out. My pad was wet, so I left that out too. Really, the only thing I put in my trunk was the bounce pad.
I walked back out to Rocky and untied the lead rope. I led him back to the wash stall to cool him off. I clipped on the crossties, turned on the water, and started to spray him. He wasn't fussy about this at all. I started at his legs, up to his shoulders, then his back, and then his hindend. When I was done, I squeeged him off and put him back in his stall. 'I'll turn him out later' I thought. Then I went out to find Allie...
